The only lake in the world formed in basaltic rock by hypervelocity meteorite impact has some peculiar properties that are still being researched! The lake is alkaline and saline at the same time. The lake allows flora and fauna rarely found elsewhere on Earth. Also compasses fail to work in certain parts of the crater.
